The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned popular singer Hamisu Breaker and TikTok influencer Abubakar Ibrahim (known as G Fresh) before Justice Sale Musa Shuaibu at the Federal High Court in Kano on charges related to the abuse of the Nigerian currency.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to the charges. The court subsequently sentenced them to five months in prison each, with an option to pay a ₦200,000 fine.
Hamisu Breaker was convicted for spraying ₦30,000 worth of ₦200 notes during a party in Hadejia, Jigawa State. Likewise, G Fresh was found guilty of spraying bundles of ₦1,000 notes during a shop opening event in the Tarauni area of Kano State.
