The state governor, Ademola Adeleke, abruptly stormed out of the Eid prayer area in the Oke-Baale neighborhood of Osogbo, the capital of Osun, setting off a spectacular scene. Adeleke was upset over the inadequate seating.
According to Vanguard, certain lawmakers contacted Senator Ajibola Basiru, a former Senate spokesperson, and informed him that he was taking up the governor’s desk.
They urged the senator leave the row for Governor Adeleke and his entourage even though Basiru had relocated to another area.
After the senator persisted on sitting on the row, things became boisterous as several hoodlums started causing commotion.
Adeleke, who was led into the prayer area by Dr. Tunde Badmus, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, was reportedly unable to get to the front row since the dispute was still being worked out.
Governor Adeleke was unable to exit his car and missed the two raka’at prayers.
After the prayer ceremonies, the senator departed the area with the most important religious figure, Chief Tunde Badmus, therefore it was learned that the attempt to have him arrested was ultimately unsuccessful.
