Nollywood actress Wunmi Toriola lost her cool on a movie set, expressing frustration over the producers’ disregard for her safety during the filming of an intense scene.
In the scene, Toriola played a wife being physically assaulted by an abusive partner, but the action escalated beyond her comfort level.
She openly criticized the producers for not intervening or calling for a retake, accusing them of valuing potential awards and accolades over her well-being.
Toriola was heard saying:
“Can’t you cut? Are you all unfortunate? Do I have to die before you stop? All this just for an AMVCA award? The category isn’t even sponsored. For N200K, you want to injure me? Don’t you know I’ve bleached?”
The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions. While some fans and industry professionals sympathized with Toriola and emphasized the importance of actor safety, others critiqued her choice of words, particularly her mention of her bleached skin.
A social media user @TrulyDearest_ wrote, “This is hilarious 😂😂😂 the guy fully entered the character but the lady did not understand her own character.”
Another user @Brightgoldenboy penned: “I no dey hear yoruba, but I hear this one and he choke. No be die she come die, na film she come act.”
