On Sunday in Jos, Nasir El-Rufai was counseled by Samuel Kwamkur, a well-known All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Plateau State, not to ignite Nigeria with his careless statements.
During a press conference, Kwankur, a former national director of the Christian Association of Nigeria, reacted to the former Kaduna governor’s assertions.
El-Rufai reportedly told his audience that the Islamic dominance of Kaduna had been carried out successfully across Nigeria and would continue until passing off to his successor.
He claimed that El-Rufai similarly informed his audience that during electioneering campaigns, when Christians attempted to inquire about the Muslim/Muslim ticket, they misled ‘them’ into believing that it was not for religious dominance when, in fact, the tickets at the state and federal levels were for Islamic dominance.
Kwamkur further claimed that El-Rufai had stated that Bola Tinubu’s victory had silenced the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the speech’s accompanying video, which has since gone viral on social media.
He pledged to uphold an Islamic-dominated government in Kaduna State and throughout Nigeria for 20 years.
In response to El-Rufai’s outburst, Kwamkur expressed dissatisfaction with the former governor’s comments, claiming that the former governor cannot be absolved of “the wanton killings, demolition of houses and places of worship of Christians in Kaduna” because he characterized the residents of his state as “them” versus “us.”
El-Rufai had become a “confirmed religious bigot with a hidden agenda to destroy the country using religion,” according to Kwankur.
He argued that the former governor shouldn’t use his comments to persuade Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s election triumph was just intended to isolate the country.
Despite the fact that I frequently hear Islamic clerics claim that Tinubu’s Muslim/Muslim ticket is advancing an Islamization agenda, I was one of those who worked to convince Christians and Nigerians that this was not the case because I had faith in His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s background and character.
The APC leader urged Tinubu to be wary of friends, allies, and politicians like El-Rufai who want to collaborate with him because they will damage the country and the system further.
