Alhaji Idirissu Amin, better known by his stage name Idi Amin, has dead. He was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign committee.
Amin, a close friend of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP nominee and former vice president, passed away in Abuja, according to Vanguard.
The deceased, who was the immediately previous chairman of Maiha Local Government Council in Adamawa State, died on Monday, June 26, according to family sources who spoke to Daily Trust.
Amin, a fiery politician with enormous stature akin to that of the previous president of Uganda, Idi Amin, gained popularity throughout Adamawa for his comic persona.
In a statement of sympathy, the governor of Adamawa state’s principal press secretary, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, referred to the late Amin as a brave political activist who provided incalculable service to the nation
