The deaths of troops slaughtered by bandits in Niger State, according to Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, will not be in vain.
This was said by Musa on Friday after he placed wreaths on the graves of 20 fallen soldiers and gave their relatives national flags at the Military Cemetery in Abuja.
The Nigerian military will exact revenge for the deaths of its soldiers, the head of defense vowed, adding that no one responsible for the slaughter will escape punishment.
Musa added that the loss of their loved ones will not be in vain as he grieved with the family members.
“We will get them out, we will smoke them out, and we will make sure that they never have any other opportunity to kill any other person,” he added of those who committed the crime and those who had persisted in harming our soldiers.
In Niger State’s Chukuba district of Shiroro, an aircraft on a rescue mission crashed after soldiers battling terrorists were shot and killed, according to Naija News.
The military responded to the development by stating last week that a total of 36 service members killed during the ambush.
