SOME marriages are made in heaven. But Ncengani Mlambo believes hers was made in hell!

She claims that her husband abused her while he was alive and now he reaches out from the grave to assault her.

Ncengani said: “He broke my heart and got married to a second wife without my consent and then left me with our three kids to go and stay with his new wife. He never sent us money or came back home. And now that he is dead, he slaps me every night, demanding that I go back to his home. For me marriage was a curse from the devil himself.”

The 40-year-old woman from the Mqangqala area in Umzinto, on the KZN south coast, said she has lost her eyesight because of the hot slaps her dead husband gives her every night. She said the doctors at Mshiyeni Memorial and GJ Crookes hospitals told her the damage to her left eye is severe and it should be removed and replaced with an artificial eye. She explained some of her history.

“My husband, to whom I was married for almost 20 years, died in 2010. Now he comes to my mother’s house and orders me to go back to his home and perform a reconciliation ritual. I don’t understand why he wants us to reconcile now that he’s dead. But when I try to tell his family what he is doing to me, my mother-in-law chases me away,” she said.

Mother-in-law refused to comment: “This is a family matter. My daughter-in-law shouldn’t have discussed this with you.”

KZN Traditional Healer’s chairman Sazi Mhlongo said Ncengani should act fast to resolve the problem.

“She urgently needs to get rid of her husband’s ghost before it kills her. Lots of people have died from being attacked by ghosts,” he said.
