Davido has shared insights into the next stage of his music career, revealing that he is no longer prioritising winning Grammy awards.
During an appearance on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, the singer explained that he has already reached significant milestones, including global performances, sold-out arenas, and multiple Grammy nominations in recent years.
He stated that he now feels satisfied with his achievements and is shifting his focus toward creating music that truly represents who he is.
“This part of my career, I have performed everywhere, sold out every arena, I have been to three Grammys in the last three years. The music that is coming next is very Davido, it is very African. We have done it so I am not really looking to really do western sounds,” he said.
According to him, his upcoming projects will lean more into his African roots rather than being influenced by Western sounds.
Davido also highlighted the strong support he enjoys in South Africa, noting that a large portion of the population there is familiar with and appreciates his music.
Over the years, he has worked with several South African artists and continues to maintain a strong presence across the continent.
