Renowned rapper Nicki Minaj has praised Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido as a remarkable songwriter and melody creator.
In a recent post, Minaj explained her motivation for collaborating with Davido on her new project, If It’s Okay. Responding to a fan’s question, she revealed that her desire to incorporate an Afrobeat vibe into her music led her to seek out the Nigerian artist.
On her X handle, Minaj described Davido as “an incredible writer & melody maker,” emphasizing their mutual respect for each other. She added, “I asked him to be a part of it to bring out the Afrobeat tempo/feeling in it a bit more. Naija to the world.”
