Famous singer Davido faces renewed backlash after updating on his donation to 42 charity homes, just hours after his fans suffered significant losses with his meme coin, $Davido.
This follows the severe financial losses incurred by fans who invested in his meme coin, which saw a massive increase shortly after its launch but then crashed by over 90% within 24 hours.
In the midst of ongoing criticism, Davido shared a letter from the Coalition of Orphanages and Children’s Homes in Nigeria (COCHIN) regarding his February 2024 donation. The letter expressed gratitude and noted that 42 out of the 52 orphanages under the coalition benefitted from the funds.
Despite the intention to generate positive feedback, many criticized Davido for allegedly using his charity work to distract from the crypto scandal.
