David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has proclaimed himself to be the global leader of Afrobeats genre. During a recent interview with Nadine Graham of Billboard, the DMW CEO stopped the interviewer when he referred to himself as the king of Afrobeats in the US and claimed to be leading “everywhere.” Davido asserted that he is the global leader of Afrobeats, and he aims to provide everyone with “just good music.” He also mentioned that his music has reached even people in prison. Davido is currently working on two albums, one for the African audience and the other for the American audience. The artist further revealed that his preferred joint project is “2 AM” featuring Casanova and Tory Lanez, as the song successfully blends elements of American, Canadian, and Nigerian cultures.
