Renowned Nigerian artist Davido has shared his excitement over Belgium’s decision to legalize health insurance for sex workers.
According to the NAIJALOG, Belgium signed new laws on Sunday aimed at safeguarding the rights of sex workers. The legislation grants them access to welfare benefits similar to those available to regular employees, including pensions, maternity leave, sick days, and health insurance.
This makes Belgium the first country in the world to extend health insurance to sex workers.
Reacting to the development on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Davido retweeted the news, describing it as a “groundbreaking move by Belgium.”
