Dapper Music & Entertainment has responded to the allegations made by Shallipopi (Crown Uzama) following his departure from the label. Shallipopi had accused the label of distrust, poor management of funds, and abuse of artist rights.
In a detailed press release posted on Instagram, the label reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fairness, and integrity in all its operations while addressing the claims. Dapper Music explained that after Shallipopi’s first album’s success, he was given the opportunity to renegotiate his contract with full legal representation. On October 28, 2024, new terms were agreed upon, allowing Shallipopi the freedom to pursue other opportunities while maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the label.
The label expressed surprise at the accusations and emphasized that it had provided transparent financial records and is fully cooperating with the auditors hired by Shallipopi. Additionally, the label responded to allegations about another artist, Muyeez, supposedly signing a contract as a minor. Dapper Music clarified that the contract was signed by Muyeez’s legal guardian and was properly witnessed.
