Veteran Nigerian singer Daddy Showkey has shared a heartfelt story about how Fuji icon Alabi Pasuma supported his family during a difficult period in his life.

During a live performance at a recent celebrity event, Daddy Showkey, joined on stage by Pasuma, revealed that the Fuji star was the only one who stood by him after he suffered a serious accident in 2007. In a now-viral video, he recounted how the accident left him hospitalized for three years, during which Pasuma took full responsibility for his family’s welfare.

He emotionally described Pasuma as his true friend in the industry, stating that while many of his colleagues turned their backs on him, Pasuma remained by his side.

“This man stood with me through the darkest times,” Showkey said. “When I had an accident in 2007, I disappeared from the public eye because I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma looked after my family all through that period. I’ll never forget him.

“After I recovered, I visited others who I thought were my friends, but they shut me out. I would go to their homes and be told they weren’t around—even though I knew they were inside,” he added.
