The server breakdown which is currently affecting the respectively is currently causing a heavy backlog of containers at the ports.

However, the Customs spokesman at Tincan Port Command, Mr Chris Osunkwo explained that the management of the service were working  to provide solution to the problems.

It was learnt that customs rakes in over N700million daily from Tincan port while Apapa command and Kirikiri Lighter terminal generate over six hundred and 450million respectively
.
Since the beginning of the year, One of the teething problems hindering the success of Pre- Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) scheme is the constant break down of the server.

Agents who spoke on the issue explained that the network was so bad, you could hardly work twice in a week.

They said the six hours clearance  assurance declared by customs would not  succeed without the system working.

According to the  Chairman, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Apapa Chapter, Fred Ajuzie,  the failure of the server was largely due to the volume of documents processed during the day.

meanwhile, a visit to the various ports in Lagos yesterday had many agents loitering around lamenting over their inability to perform operations.
