Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has allegedly been ordered by a court to pay $200,000 in damages after failing to appear at a scheduled performance, according to entertainment blogger Cutie Juls.
The dispute
Cutie Juls reported that the Afropop star was contracted for an event in Germany, charging $100,000 as his performance fee. He was said to have received a $50,000 advance, but failed to show up for the show.
Organizers allegedly reached out afterwards, and while Kizz Daniel initially promised to refund the payment, he reportedly failed to follow through. This prompted the organizers to pursue legal action.
Court ruling and fallout
According to the blogger, the court ruled against the singer, ordering him to pay $200,000 in damages. The ruling also allegedly included a directive to freeze both his personal and business bank accounts. Screenshots of payment records were shared as part of the evidence.
As of now, neither Kizz Daniel nor his management team has publicly responded to the circulating claims.
Not the first time
This isn’t the first time the artist has been embroiled in controversy over missed performances. Back in August 2022, Kizz Daniel made headlines in Tanzania after failing to perform at the Summer Amplified Concert despite reportedly receiving full payment.
Footage showed him being escorted by police into a waiting vehicle, sparking viral outrage. Although he later clarified that he was not formally arrested but only questioned by security officials, the incident dented his reputation.
The latest development has reignited debates online about the singer’s business dealings and reliability in honoring performance contracts.
