The Ikorodu Magistrate Court has mandated a DNA test to determine the paternity of Liam Aloba, son of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The order was given on Tuesday by Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga in response to a petition filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, who requested confirmation of Liam’s paternity. Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was listed as the respondent.

In his application, Joseph emphasized the importance of settling the issue, stating that there was still uncertainty surrounding the child’s paternity and that a conclusive resolution was necessary.

Ruling on the matter, the magistrate ordered:

“The court hereby directs that two DNA tests be conducted at accredited and recognized hospitals, one within Nigeria and another outside Nigeria.”

The court also ruled that both parties or their representatives must be present during the collection of the DNA samples.

The case has been adjourned to November 11, 2025, for further proceedings.
