The Chairman of Ezza Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Ikeuwa Omebe, and Danny Nweke, the Leader of Ezza Legislative Council, were shot on Saturday night by five gunmen on the Abakaliki/Enugu Highway, while returning from Ezzamgbo Ohaukwu where they attended the traditional marriage ceremony of Omebe’s driver.
Omebe was shot in the back, while Nweke was also shot in the back and in the buttocks. The police orderly attached to them was unhurt. Both men survived the attack and are receiving medical attention for their injuries.
