Viral NYSC Corper Raye Explains Why She No Longer Attends Church
In a video that’s currently making rounds online, popular NYSC member Raye shared her reasons for stepping away from church. She expressed that many of the struggles faced by young people today aren’t spiritual in nature but are rooted in economic hardship.
Raye criticized the common notion that setbacks are caused by “village people” or generational curses, saying it’s a distraction from the real issue a tough and unforgiving economy that’s holding the youth back.
Corper Raye said …
“I stopped going to church because I realized that my problem was not a spiritual problem but it was about an economical problem. It was more of the country I grew up in. You’re not cursed. Nothing is wrong with you. Your family doesn’t have any curse. Your village people have not had any effect on you. The only thing that is making you slow as an average youth is because you are literally growing up in an economy that makes things five times harder for an average person to succeed i used to do a lot of naive video until i woke up one day and i said this problem is not a spiritual problem it’s just basically an economical problem i love god to be very honest but i genuinely believe that i don’t have any costs the minute i changed my mindset and said there’s no cost after me i need to look for a way to break out of poverty i started finding ways i started finding solution for myself To break out of this kind of cause, to break out of the economy cause, you have to look for a way to fend for yourself outside the box. Think outside the box and try to find a way outside the box. But stop depending on that information that you’re caused from your father’s side, your mother’s side. That is the real cause. The real cause is that mindset that you’re actually holding on and saying that it’s from your father or mother’s side. That is the actual cause.”
