The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a body representing youth groups across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, has thrown its weight behind Seyi Tinubu for the 2027 Lagos State governorship race.
Youths Declare Support for Tinubu’s Son
In a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, the coalition described the endorsement as more than a political decision, calling it a “divine call to leadership.”
Ibem noted that Seyi Tinubu possesses the vision, integrity, and experience needed to steer Lagos to greater heights.
Leadership Qualities Highlighted
The group praised Seyi Tinubu’s track record in leadership and his commitment to public service, pointing out his efforts in community development and his ability to unite people from different backgrounds.
They also referenced remarks by Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, who emphasised that Seyi’s leadership abilities stand independent of his family name.
Rallying Support for 2027
CONYL urged stakeholders, organisations, and Lagos residents to back Seyi Tinubu as he prepares for the 2027 governorship election. They explained that his agenda for Lagos focuses on economic development, infrastructure growth, education reform, and social welfare, reflecting the aspirations of young people and the wider populace.
Describing their endorsement as a historic moment for Lagos, the coalition called for unity among citizens to build a future anchored on fairness, progress, and sustainability.
