Popular Nigerian comedian Bovi has finally revealed the reason behind his decision to part ways with fellow comedy star Basketmouth.
The duo, who once shared the stage in numerous collaborations, eventually went their separate paths as their professional interests began to shift.
In a recently surfaced interview, Bovi explained that the split was driven by his desire for financial independence and personal growth.
He noted that working on joint projects meant sharing profits, something he later decided to move away from in order to fully enjoy the fruits of his labor and focus on building his individual brand.
According to Bovi:
“Basketmouth and I are cool. Nothing happened. Interests changed. I wanted to focus more and spend more time with my family, and also to elevate myself.
I easily get bored doing something for too long, so I try something else. As you know, I went back to TV because I wanted to build my own brand. When I host shows at Eko Hotels, it fills up. So, why should I go and share money? Why should we be many doing one show?”
The comedian emphasized that there was no bad blood between them, but rather a natural evolution in their careers and personal goals.
