A Port Harcourt based clergyman, Pastor Tony Daniel of Jesus Alive Word Refiners International Church, has been accused of raping a 20-year-old woman.
The alleged victim reported the incident to an human rights advocacy group, Centre For Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign.
According to the lady (name withheld), the choir mistress and a female church member held her while Pastor Daniel violently defiled her.
She also revealed that the incident occurred when the clergyman invited her over to his house to settle an issue she was having with his wife.
Meanwhile, the pastor is currently under investigation by the Rivers State Police Command, following a petition submitted by the human rights group.
A member of the group, Barrister Festus Bonwin, said they are also requesting for adequate police protection for the alleged victim.
In a related incident, Wazobia 94.1 FM News had reported on March 19, 2020, that Pastor Daniel was arrested following a complaint by one Mr Ndidi Austin who alleged that he caught the pastor with his wife in a hotel.
