The Chinese government has established police stations in Nigeria, as well as over 20 other countries in Europe, America, Asia, and Africa, in what appears to be a massive campaign to combat the growing cases of fraud and telecommunications crimes committed by Chinese nationals living abroad.
This is stated in a report titled ‘110 OVERSEAS: Chinese Transnational Policing Gone Wild.’
The Chinese Police Station, known as the ‘Service Station,’ is located in Benin City, Nigeria, as well as Maseru, Lesotho, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Other countries with service stations include 35 in 16 European countries, 10 in six American countries, and 5 in five Asian countries.
According to a Safeguard Defender investigation report, Chinese authorities claimed that from April 2021 to July 2022, 230,000 nationals were “persuaded to return” to face criminal proceedings in China.
