Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has praised Marc Cucurella as a “crucial” part of his team, stating he would like “seven players” like him in the squad.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton, Maresca was asked about Cucurella’s performances this season.
The Blues boss highlighted the 26-year-old’s influence on his teammates, noting that he not only plays well but also elevates those around him.
“Marc is very important,” Maresca told reporters on Friday. “He has qualities that are hard to find in players. He makes those around him better because he’s always talking, always pushing for improvement.
“If you can have five, six, or seven players like Marc, who are constantly encouraging others to improve, it’s invaluable. I’m very pleased with him.”
