There are reports indicating that Chef Dammy, who was reportedly arrested the previous day, has been released on bail. The Police AIG Zone 17 in Akure, Ondo State, had invited the renowned chef based on a petition filed against her by her pastor, Adegoke Jeremiah.
Confirming the invitation, AIG Zone 17 spokeswoman DSP Hakeem stated that Chef Dammy accepted the invitation on Thursday afternoon, November 23. After presenting a guarantee, she was granted administrative bail. The spokesperson clarified that Chef Dammy is not in police custody and was not detained.
Earlier on Thursday, there were unverified claims of Chef Dammy’s arrest at AIG Zone 1 in Akure, responding to a petition. An individual on social media raised concerns about the station’s history of corruption and urged Chef Dammy’s family to speak out for justice.
It’s worth noting that Chef Dammy had recently disclosed unsettling information about the pastor who funded her cook-a-thon competition, expressing that if anything unfortunate were to happen to her, the pastor should be held accountable.
