Charly Boy, also known as Area Fada, has faced severe criticism for engaging in slut-shaming and perceived “bullying” of actress Mercy Isoyip following her stumbling recitation of the National Anthem.
Earlier this week, the actress wore a police uniform and recited the National Anthem at the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Imo State. Unfortunately, she made errors and omitted some lines during the recitation. Subsequently, she publicly apologized, revealing that she is not a police officer but rather an actress and a singer.
Amid the ensuing controversy, Charly Boy took to Instagram and made unfounded claims that Mercy must have secured her role as a result of being associated with a wealthy individual as a side chic. He went on to engage in slut-shaming by suggesting that she engages in intimate relationships for material gain while her peers work hard to earn a living.
Charly Boy’s comments were met with strong criticism from many individuals who disapproved of his rush to judgment without personally knowing the actress.
