Ghana’s Local Black Stars won their first group match of the 2014 CHAN tournament in South Africa by defeating Congo by 1-0 in Bloemfontein.
The only goal of the match was scored by Theophilus Anobaah in the 34th minute after his strike took a deflection. Ghana started the first half brightly but their opponents rose to the occasion each time. Congo also threatened at the other end
of the field which could have earned them an equaliser but they failed to take their chances.
The second half was quite similar to the first half but fell slightly short of the numerous chances created in the first half.
