The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has denied reports that it instructed commercial banks to accept and dispense old naira notes after the recent Supreme Court verdict.
Dr. Isa Abdulmumin, the Acting Director of Corporate Communication CBN, clarified that the apex bank had not issued any statement on the collection of old naira notes.
The CBN’s silence on the matter has unsettled economic stakeholders amidst the naira crisis in the country.
