The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, UPTH, has refuted claims that Burna Boy covered all medical expenses for patients during a recent visit.

Recently, the superstar singer garnered attention for his philanthropic activities in Port Harcourt, which included paying medical bills, distributing foodstuffs, sponsoring a N4 million lunch at a popular market, among others.

However, the hospital clarified that Burna Boy only settled the bills of specific patients, contrary to reports suggesting he had paid off all outstanding bills for everyone.

This clarification was issued by the hospital’s spokesperson, Elabha Meni, in a statement released in Port Harcourt. Meni acknowledged Burna Boy’s generosity in assisting selected patients by offsetting their bills during his visit on June 11.

Meni emphasized that while the hospital appreciated the singer’s kind gesture, it was important to clarify that not all patients’ bills were covered by Burna Boy. The hospital did not receive direct payments from Burna Boy or his team on behalf of all patients as initially reported.
