Bruno Fernandes, a midfielder for Portugal, believes his team thrashed Nigeria’s Super Eagles 4-0 in an international friendly match on Thursday night in Lisbon because his teammates dominated at all levels.
Portugal defeated Nigeria thanks to a brace from Fernandes and goals from Gonçalo Ramos and Joo Mário.
The friendly match was held at Lisbon’s Estádio José Alvalade.
Fernandes, a Manchester United player, told Sport TV after the game, “Perfection did not exist, or at least it is very difficult to achieve, but we made a great game, dominating at every level.”
“It was a win that gives us great confidence ahead of our debut against Ghana. We are a team, it isn’t about individuals and we’ve a great group, young players that are up-and-coming and hungry. We are ready for the World Cup.”
