A fire broke out Tuesday morning in Lagos’ Ebute Metta neighborhood.
The inferno began shortly before 9 a.m., according to an eyewitness.
One of the buildings on Ibadan Street, off Cemetery Road, caught fire.
It had spread to two other houses by 10 a.m., causing panic among the other residents.
“I called the Lagos Fire Service at about 9:05 a.m. They arrived about 40 minutes later, which was a bit late.
“The crowd and traffic to did not help matters because the police, led by the DPO, had to first make way for them”, the citizen said.
Emergency responders are still on the ground, but they have been able to keep the situation under control while occupants assess their losses.
The incident occurred after a fire broke out on Aladelola Street in Lagos’s Ikosi Ketu neighborhood on Monday evening.
