The Brazilian Government is set to deploy around 30,000 troops along its nearly 10,600 miles of border Brazil share with its neighbours ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup holding in Brazil.
The troops which included army, navy and air force will use planes, helicopters and patrol boats to stop crimes, drug trafficking and illegal immigration for the tournament which runs between June 12 – July 13.
About 10 South American nations are also planning to reinforce security ahead of the tournament the defence ministry said on Saturday in a statement issued.
