As it was anticipated, Brazilian manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has released his 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup holding in Brazil. The 2002 FIFA World Cup winning coach surprisingly ommitted the likes of Kaka, Robinho, Miranda, Lucas Moura, the Liverpool pair of Lucas Leiva and Philippe Coutinho.
The list consisted of six English league-based players with the four of the players plying their trade in Chelsea; David Luiz, Oscar, Ramires and Willian. The other English league-based players are the midfield duo of Fernandinho and Paulinho playing for Manchester City and Tottenham respectively.
The team is expected to do the nation proud on home soil; they will enjoy the home support throughout their stay in the tournament. The team has 17 World Cup debutant; with Brazil opening their World Cup campaign against Croatia in June 12 in Sao Paulo.
