Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finalized a divorce settlement, marking the conclusion of an eight-year legal battle, according to People Magazine.
Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, confirmed the settlement, stating that Jolie is now focused on “finding peace and healing for their family.” He added, “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Honestly, Angelina is exhausted, but relieved that this chapter is finally over.”
Jolie initially filed for divorce in September 2016, and since then, the couple has been involved in a prolonged legal struggle. In 2018, they reached a custody agreement for their six children, three of whom are adopted, although tensions over custody appear to have resurfaced.
Aside from custody issues, the couple, aged 61 and 49 respectively, have been involved in a separate legal dispute concerning the sale of Jolie’s stake in Chateau Miraval, the French vineyard where they tied the knot.
Pitt and Jolie first met while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005, during which Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
