President Bola Tinubu condemned the suicide bombing in Borno State, describing the perpetrators as cowards who will soon face justice. He attributed the attack to the pressure security forces have exerted on terrorists, weakening their ability to launch assaults.
While offering condolences to those affected, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration would prevent the nation from descending into fear and violence. He emphasized that every necessary step would be taken to protect citizens and bring criminals to justice.
In a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President described the bombings in Gwoza Local Government Area as desperate acts of terror, highlighting the success of ongoing efforts against terrorists. He reiterated that the government would enhance measures to ensure security and maintain law and order.
The statement followed reports of a suicide attack in Gwoza, where a female bomber, carrying a baby, detonated an explosive device at a wedding venue, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.
