According to information released by the Defence Headquarters, Nigeria’s fight against insurgency and non-state actors has yielded significant victories in the last two weeks, with troops from Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji neutralizing at least 44 terrorists and arresting over 50 others in the country’s North West and North East regions.
Major General Musa Danmadami, Director, Defence Media Operations, disclosed in Abuja on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at the bi-weekly news briefing on armed forces operations that troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East had captured 27 suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and neutralized 19.
During the period, the troops also recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition of various types, and other logistics supplies, according to Danmadami.
He also stated that an air interdiction mission was carried out on a terrorist convoy traveling along Tunbum Aliyu, near Lake Chad, a terrorist location southwest of Maiduguri.
“During the focus period, 145 Boko Haram terrorists and their families, comprising 30 male adults, 33 female adults, and 82 children, surrendered to troops at various locations throughout the North East theatre of operation,” Danmadami said.
