Bobrisky, a crossdresser who has been a source of controversy, has acknowledged in court that he is a man after being sentenced to six months in prison. The Federal High Court in Lagos State sentenced him to prison on Friday for abusing the naira, without the option of a fine. Justice Abimbola Awogboro handed down the sentence.
Before the sentence was passed, the judge asked Bobrisky about his gender, and he promptly replied that he was male. When the judge asked, “Are you a man or a woman?” Bobrisky responded, “I am a man.” According to Justice Abimbola, Bobrisky’s imprisonment will serve as a warning to others.
