Nigeraian sprinter Blessing Okagbare looks set to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, as she is poised to earn the country her first medal at the ongoing London Olympic.
Earlier today in a 100m race she out-shined other contenders to qualify for the semifinals of the 100 dash with an impressive time of 10.93 seconds, .03 seconds off her personal best set earlier this season.
The semifinals are set for 12:35pm Saturday with the final to follow at 2:55 p.m.
Fellow Nigerian and teammate Oludamola Osayomi failed to qualify for the semifinals after clocking 11.36 secs to finish fourth in the final heat.
