Blessing CEO, whose real name is Blessing Okoro, has stated that there may have been a “miscommunication” regarding her earlier claim of having stage 4 cancer.
In an interview with content creator Egungun, the controversial relationship expert addressed ongoing concerns about her health and the backlash surrounding her fundraising efforts.
During the discussion, Egungun questioned the accuracy of her diagnosis.
“Are you really in stage 4 or that is what you were told?” Egungun asked.
“Maybe it’s miscommunication because that was what I was told,” Blessing said.
Blessing had previously gone public with claims that she was battling stage 4 cancer, even sharing emotional videos of herself crying and showing hair loss. She later clarified that she had breast cancer.
However, her statements raised doubts among Nigerians, especially after she revealed she had not begun chemotherapy treatment, prompting questions about her earlier claims of hair loss.
Responding to this, she explained:
“I have not started chemotherapy. I just received my biopsy result. Initially, the lump was thought to be non-cancerous, but later tests revealed it was cancerous.”
She added that she only confirmed the lump was cancerous towards the end of January.
The influencer also addressed the controversy surrounding donations made for her treatment. When asked if she had received over ₦100 million, she dismissed the claim.
“Which kind hundred million? The money never reach hundred million.” Blessing laughed, adding that it’s just “thirteen million” that she received in donations.
When questioned about offering an apology to Nigerians for her earlier stage 4 claim, she responded:
“Apologise for what? Who did I hurt?”
She further said:
“I think I’m not a doctor and maybe i just passed the message that a doctor gave to me. I don’t know the stage I am right now because I’ve ran all the tests, in few days time I’ll go back to my oncologist and they will be able to tell me the exact stage.”
On requests to share medical proof, Blessing declined:
“I can’t post my result online, it’s a personal stuff.”
She concluded by saying:
“I just want to be sure about what I am doing. I’m not a doctor; I’m only sharing the updates I receive from them.”
