Bruce Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade has the auto version of an airplane’s black box, that should have recorded speed, braking and accelerator data in the five seconds immediately before he rear-ended a Lexus in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, TMZ reported Tuesday, investigators hope that tool will provide key evidence in recreating the deadly crash, sources said.
That Lexus, driven by 69-year-old widow Kim Howe, spun into the opposite lane of Pacific Coast Highway traffic, where a Hummer plowed into the luxury ride and killed the woman.
Howe had stopped for a Prius which had slowed in front of her, and LA County sheriff’s investigators have seized all four cars from the wreck. All four vehicles have similar drive-data-recording technology, TMZ reported.
Jenner, who was hauling a dune buggy, could be on the legal hook for anything from $100 for following too close all the way up to vehicular manslaughter.
