Prominent Nigerian clergyman, Bishop David Oyedepo, has openly stated that the Fulani ethnic group does not hold ownership of Nigeria.
He made this declaration during a sermon delivered to his congregation at church, emphasizing that Nigeria belongs to all its citizens—not any single group.
Reaffirming his stance, Bishop Oyedepo said he is not of Fulani descent and does not need a visa to claim his place in the country, as he is a full-fledged Nigerian by birth.
“Fulanis do not own Nigeria. I don’t have a Fulani root; I am a born and bred Nigerian. I don’t have a visa to be here. This is not Fulani Republic of Nigeria; it is the Federal Republic of Nigeria…,” he stated during the message.
Social Media Reacts:
- @ugo_shib joked: “Hahahah read the body language, this is like ‘let me just talk so it looks like I said something.’ 😀”
- @rer4life responded: “Fulani herdsmen aren’t the whole Fulani tribe. Still, this pastor is among the least tolerant religious leaders… No wonder Obi ran to him during that religious tension.”
- @ORSNigga commented: “He only spoke from the pulpit. No aid for Benue, no relief efforts—just talk. With his level of influence, you’d expect more action. I miss TB Joshua—he’d have already sent truckloads of food to Benue.”
- @anakwezeugochu1 added: “We keep lying to ourselves about who owns Nigeria. Only a landlord can issue a quit notice. Go check how many such notices have been given in Benue and Plateau.”
