Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has blasted people who accused the father of the late Nigerian musician Mohbad of quickly burying him.
Recall that Mohbad was buried the following day, on September 13, 2023, after passing away on September 12 in a contentious manner.
A number of the musician’s followers took to social media to lambast the singer’s father for not making the proper arrangements and looking into the matter fully before burying the musician.
Seun Kuti stated in a recent interview with media personality Nedu’s Thehonestbunch podcast that the deceased father is only being attacked because he is poor in response to the criticism surrounding Mohbad’s funeral.
“Poverty is a major factor in the Mohbad controversy. People claim that Mohbad’s father murdered him because he had Mohbad buried early. Who will be examining the body of his son for two to three days? He asked.
“If na Otedola pikin die and he bury am overnight, wetin anybody go talk here?” Kuti questioned in Pidgin. No one has yet to visit to offer condolences for a residence, be it?
“Instead of comforting him, we are turning him evil so that he might murder his son. someone who recently lost a child. You support the boy who is being bullied by others while saying nothing about it.
