Reality TV star Erica Nlewedim has sparked controversy online following a comment she made about American music icon Beyoncé.

The backlash came after Beyoncé’s recent Paris tour stop, where she surprised fans by appearing on stage with her husband, Jay-Z.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Erica remarked that Beyoncé’s lack of culinary skills hasn’t stopped her from achieving massive success. Her exact words were: “Beyoncé doesn’t know how to cook and she’s still a success.”

The comment drew swift reactions from social media users.

Dr. Jenny questioned the validity of the claim, saying, “LOL… Who told her Beyoncé can’t cook?🙄 Success is built on hard work, discipline, and consistency.”

Another user, Kenner, mocked the statement, saying, “So you’re using Beyoncé as an excuse 🤣🤣. That soup might actually taste good regardless of the look — but that’s okra, right?”

Aisha Pretty also chimed in, adding, “Not just Beyoncé o, a lot of successful women too…”

The post has since stirred conversations about gender roles, success, and stereotypes on social media.
