Winner of the recently concluded Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, better known as Imisi, has expressed her desire to collaborate with celebrated filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, whom she calls her biggest inspiration in Nollywood.
The 23-year-old reality star shared this during a media chat after receiving her ₦150 million cash prize and an SUV at the official prize presentation ceremony in Lagos on Tuesday.
Known for her vibrant personality and natural acting talent on the show, Imisi revealed that her time in the Big Brother house reignited her passion for the movie industry.
“I think people saw a lot of my acting side while I was in the house. Even my fellow housemates said I’m a natural actress. I’m ready to do more.
Funke Akindele is my number one mentor. I really hope to work with her one day. I also admire Bimbo Ademoye and Bolaji Ogunmola, they inspire me a lot.”
Reflecting on her victory, Imisi described the moment as “overwhelming” and admitted she is still coming to terms with the massive love and support from fans across the country.
When asked about suggestions that ethnic backing might have influenced her win, she responded:
“Maybe. Yoruba people are very supportive of their own, so that might’ve played a role. But honestly, I believe people connected with my realness and vulnerability.”
She also expressed heartfelt appreciation to her Celestial Church community for their prayers and encouragement throughout her time on the show, noting that she plans to leverage her fame to build a lasting career in entertainment.
“Fame is new to me, but I’m ready to learn and grow. I’ll seek mentorship and be intentional about my next steps,” she added.
