Engr. Bayo Ojulari has been appointed as the new Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), replacing Mele Kyari. The appointment, effective immediately, was announced on April 2, 2025, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
With over 34 years of experience in the global oil and gas industry, Ojulari brings extensive expertise in petroleum asset management, production, and strategic planning. He has held leadership roles at Shell and Renaissance Africa Energy, overseeing significant projects, including the $2.4 billion acquisition of Shell’s Nigerian assets.
Ojulari’s leadership comes at a critical time for NNPCL, facing challenges like oil theft and pipeline vandalism. He is expected to drive efficiency, increase oil production, and implement policies to transform Nigeria’s energy sector.
