Bayer Leverkusen, despite being reduced to ten men, clinched the German Super Cup with a 4-3 win on penalties against VfB Stuttgart following a 2-2 draw. The match took place in Leverkusen, western Germany, on August 17, 2024.

Victor Boniface opened the scoring early for Leverkusen, but Stuttgart’s Enzo Millot equalized before Martin Terrier received a red card for the hosts shortly before halftime.

Deniz Undav put Stuttgart ahead in the second half, but Patrik Schick found the net for Leverkusen with just two minutes left, forcing a penalty shootout. Leverkusen emerged victorious, securing their first-ever Super Cup win. The celebration was led by Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky (#01), who lifted the trophy alongside his teammates.
