Tragedy has struck the Bayelsa State government following the sudden passing of Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. He reportedly died after collapsing at his workspace earlier today.

According to reports, “Family sources confirmed that he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.”

Possible Causes and Aftermath

While an official cause of death has not yet been released, there is speculation that the medical emergency may have been cardiac-related. A source close to the Deputy Governor linked the collapse to his “demanding workload.”

Currently, security operatives have secured the hospital premises, restricting public access as senior government officials arrive to show support. Efforts to obtain a statement from his media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
