Popular comedian Basketmouth recently took jabs at Wizkid and Burna Boy while praising Davido during the 2025 AY Live show.
During his performance, Basketmouth lauded Davido for his unwavering consistency and for staying true to his roots by using his real name. He emphasized how Davido has managed to keep his team intact over the years.
In contrast, Basketmouth poked fun at Wizkid, mocking the artist for adopting the name “Wizkid” without considering that he would eventually grow older. He joked that despite attempts to rebrand, Wizkid’s original name has stuck with him.
He also threw similar shade at Burna Boy for including “Boy” in his stage name, implying it may not age well either.
“David has been consist. He even used his real name, Davido. Consistent for years. David has been going on stage with a 100 people. Till today him still maintain that number..Wizkid – wizkid give himself wizkid him forget say him go grow old. Now he is struggling to change the name, nobody gree – machala, na lie you are a Wizkid.
