EME singer, Banky W, has expressed interest in film-making and directing.
He revealed this during a Rubbin’ Minds session with the presenter, Ebuka Obi Uchendu, where he said he’s enrolling in a two month course in film making in New York.
‘The thing that I am most excited about is that I’m going to New York next week. I’m going for two months to study a course in directing and film-making.‘
He said it has been a long-standing desire of his and that he has been part of the production of a number of music videos.
‘Growing up, I have always written scripts and acted in my school plays. What a lot of people don’t know is that a good majority of the videos that we put out, I do the screenplay and come up with concepts and sometimes, I co-direct or produce the videos. It’s something I want to pursue and one of my goals for the year is to learn the technical side of film making.’
He mentioned music video direction and advertising as areas he would also like to get involved with, and as regards joining mainstream film-making, Banky sees it as an option.
‘Yes at some point, we will cross that when we get there. Maybe start with short films,’ he said.
