Bamidele Tope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, has reportedly slipped into a coma after suffering complications linked to medication administered during an earlier hospital treatment.
The update was shared by fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, also known as Tony Montana, via Instagram on Monday night.
The incident comes shortly after Okemesi moved into a new apartment secured for him through public donations. The comic actor had previously appealed for financial help while battling an illness that left him without a home.
According to Jeff, Okemesi was rushed back to the hospital after experiencing health issues believed to be connected to drugs prescribed during his prior treatment. He alleged that several hospitals initially declined to admit the actor before he was eventually taken back to the private hospital where he had first received care and was discharged the previous week.
Jeff revealed that Okemesi is now in a coma and called on Nigerians to support him with prayers and financial assistance to cover medical expenses.
Jeff said …
“Guys, Okemesi has been hospitalised again. He was sleeping all through Saturday and Sunday without having much appetite for food due to complications from the drugs that were given to him from the hospital when he was discharged last week.
“I rushed to his house very early on Monday to take him to hospital. He was rejected in different hospitals including a government hospital in Igodo, the doctor refused to attend to him saying there’s no bed space. I have to take him back to the first private hospital that started his treatment. So they admitted him, and stabilised him.
“His breathing is improving. So, he has been in coma since Monday morning. They have placed him on oxygen. We’re all praying that he gets back on track.”
